​​Daniel (Dan) Long has extensive refinery and chemical manufacturing experience focusing on mechanical integrity programs for fixed equipment. This includes process safety assessments and audits, damage mechanism and corrosion studies, in-service inspection programs for vessels, tanks, piping and boilers; in-service equipment and new construction inspection, fitness for service evaluations, due diligence evaluations and other legal support for acquisitions, arbitration and negotiations with suppliers and contractors, cost reduction programs, work design and downsizing programs. 

Co-author of the paper “Minimizing Mechanical Integrity Budget Battles”. I presented this paper at the AIChE 6th Global Conference on Process Safety March 21 through March 24, 2010 San Antonio TX. This paper was published in the February 2011 issue of AIChE magazine CEP. This paper presents practices and communication tools to manage the budgets for effective maintenance of fabricated equipment while not compromising process safety requirements.
